Life and Death Love
I once wandered through life down on my knees
Awaiting a remedy to cure my disease.
A disease so cold, so fierce and so strong
It made me believe I could only go wrong,
It rejoiced at my loneliness and laughed at my tears
It's torn at my heart for so many years,
These men, this madness, all love gone astray
Mama never told me life could be this way.
My heart was dying a frostbitten death
Until HE revived my final breath,
HE rescued me with the touch of his skin
And on this angel's wings my journey did begin.
HE taught me to live, to laugh, to need
HE taught me the meaning of being freed,
HE showed me what life was supposed to be
HE showed me things I never dreamt I'd see,
HE made me his princess, his queen, his all
HE made me believe that I had it all,
And so to him I credit my soul
Because without him life lost control,
I learned that true love is HE, who was sent from above
To save me before I drowned in a lost illusion of love.
