How Can a Poet Stand True to Her Word?
by   Wrigley

How do poets entertain describing heightened stirs,
or the marrow of beauty seen in your eyes?

Perhaps it's your smile they attempt in a prose,
imposing grandeur set in a dream.

If eyes never mirrored amazement through you,
then how can a poet stand true to her word?

Imagine they might, though never too close,
if not blessed to witness the most splendid of souls.
