A Child's Prayer
by Amelia Jeane Adkins

  You gave me life,
yet, I am a part of you.
Now I see you walk away,
digusted at the way I am.

I see you give up on
our happiness. I see you
walking out on me again,
thinking to myself, What
did I do to make her leave?

Was it me? Or was it you?
You're the one who gave up on
our family! I still dream
of our family being together,
and you being happy and carefree.
And in that dream you're with me again.
