losing you
by shannon  rolf

Why do you have to walk away,
And leave my heart breaking this way?

When I started to open up,
You broke me up.

When I started to break free,
You had to stomp all over me.

When I started to love,
You just pushed and shoved.

When I thought we could make it,
You had to go and break it.

When you said I was the only one you wanted to be with,
After I'd leave, you'd probably go and throw your words off a cliff.

The time I was with you I began to swim,
But now it's kind of getting dim.

I followed my heart and told you we needed some time apart,
But, I couldn't resist, I had to have your sweet kiss.

After we get done kissing,
It feels like there's something missing.

The spark that used to be there,
Has now drifted into thin air.

I love you, I always will.
But my love is getting chilled.

By the things you do,
They just rip me in two.
