AGE
by Charlotte Lee Johnson

The older I get the faster time goes,
And sometimes all I see is woes.
I know that this is usually the case,
When age creeps up into place,
~
But in this day and age,
One can set the rage.
Good and bad, right or wrong
One has to try to be strong.
~
It is fine to need ones friends,
But, be careful not to abuse.
You have to give as well as take,
To keep all things amused.
~
Growing old is not all bad,
Even though it makes us sad.
Wrinkles and scars are sometimes seen,
But not by the ones in our dreams.
~
So put on your makeup, and get outside,
For a brand new day has come to size.
Look into the sky, and realize,
This could be the day, your soul, too, could rise!
~
We all shall see the other side,
Some sooner than we like.
But, if we keep our trust in God,
He will surely guide us to his light!
