Things I Want To Know
by Murray Silver
I know so many useless things
That I learned as a child
Inside my head these things are stored;
Ten million facts compiled
But there are things I want to know;
I'm curious to find
The answers to these questions
That burn within my mind
I'd love to know your secrets:
(Although I'd never want to pry)
What's the first joke you ever laughed at
The last movie that made you cry?
Your favorite TV show when you were eight
The color of your first car
Your choice for salad dressing
Your favorite candy bar
The names of your dearest childhood pets
And the games you played with them
The irritating song that gets stuck
In your head at three am
Have you ever had the measles
The mumps, Mongolian Flu?
And when you play monopoly
Are you the hat, the car or the shoe?
What do you like on a pizza
Do you make sure to vote?
Who's your favorite author
What's your very favorite quote?
I'm dying to know the answers
But above all of this
I want to know what it's like
To taste the sweetness of your kiss
