Something For Daddy
by Chuckles
I remember as a little girl,
Always looking up to you.
You seemed so tall and big,
For such a tiny thing like me.
I could sit here and write,
For days and days on end,
About all the things I remember.
But no words could ever explain,
The large impact you have on my life.
Back then I knew you were special,
But as time went by,I realized how much.
You were there for all my broken bones.
You were there through all my ear trouble,
And all the surgeries that came along with that.
You were there through all my sleepless nights.
Everytime I turned around, you just seemed to be there.
And don't forget my sweetheart dance, you were there for that too.
But the day you walked me down the aisle
And gave my hand in marriage, is the day I'll never forget.
I always dreamed that you could share that day with me.
And look, again you were there. You never cease to amaze me.
It's my turn now to be there for you.
For you have given me so much throughout my life.
It's my turn to give a little back to you.
One day you'll be gone, to a much better place,
And I can accept that now, because I know in my heart,
Regardless if you are here or not, when I look over my shoulder,
The best Daddy in the world, will be right here with me,
No matter what I do.
This poem is for my Dad. Daddy I love you with all my
heart and soul. I hope I can be as good with my kids,
as you always have been with me. Thanks for being a
Dad me and Jr. can be proud of.
