I remember now
by Corie Brianne Ingram

The moon full.
Stars shine infinite light.
Hot breath visible in the autumn night.
Hand in mine warms me.
I turn to look into your eyes.
It's not you returning the stare.
I remember now.
You left me.

A dark room.
Cardboard decorations grace the walls.
Gowns beautiful, my hair all done.
Slow melody lingers in humid air.
Up agaist a firm body,
Swaying like one.
I lift my chin to whisper in your ear.
It's not you returning soft words.
I remember now.
You gave up on us.

Drops of sadness fall from my eyes.
Memories surround me like an evil stare.
My body trembles.
I wait for you to hold me
You never clasp your arms around me.
I remember now.
You gave us a future then denied the past.
You turned away, moved forward while I can't let go.
