When You Don't Love Me Anymore
by Brooklynn  Kirkwood

It hurts the most in life,
and it feels the worst to know
That the person you love with all your heart,
is swimming against the flow.

You love them all so much,
but they don't even look your way.
You try to make your feelings the same,
so that everything seems ok.

But their soul is somewhere else now,
you can see it in their eyes.
Trapped inside their shivering body,
is where the hurting lies.

You wish you hadn't done what you did,
you wish you could right your wrong,
Make them see how sorry you are,
let them hear the angels' song.

I'm sorry that I hurt you,
and I'm sorry that I lied.
I'm sorry that I can't have you anymore,
I'm sorry that our love died.

What I did is done and gone,
even though the hurting's not.
So please forgive me and I'll let you be,
but love is not easily forgotten.

Now I know how it feels,
for your feelings to not be the same.
But I guess while I was playing with the fire,
it was me who got burnt by the flame.
