Words Are Spoken True
by M D SANCHEZ

I spend all these nights and days
Watching clouds go by,
Thinking about all the ways
You make my spirit fly.

Your touch warms my body and heart.
Your words of encouragement are strong.
I pray nothing will tear us apart
Because with you I cannot go wrong.

I know these times are trying
And I tell you not to fear.
It hurts me to hear you crying.
It would make me shed a tear.

I will be home soon enough.
Once I am in your arms,
There is no road in life too rough
Or anything to cause alarm.

This war will soon be over.
Homebound I will be.
As a friend and a lover
Soon you will be close to me.

I end this with a cheerful note,
As witness to the man above,
I'm truthful in these lines I wrote.
These words are for you, my love.
