Unplugged
by   Misharae

I've never opened my soul before
No one was good enough
Trust was never earned
Until I met you

It's hard for me to share
My deepest thoughts and dreams
Please don't laugh
It would break my heart

I've been hurt before
People who didn't accept
Who I was, what I was
You know the kind

You remind me of myself
Shy, maybe a little afraid
Of the cruel world around us
I know you'll understand

So I closed the doors
Avoided the pain and trouble
Disconnected from the world
I see you're unplugged too

I'm glad you are here
Afraid I'd be alone forever
Never understanding, being understood
Together we have the strength to reconnect
