I see the beauty in your soul,
I watch the nights of darkness 
and the days of sunshine
pass through your heart.

I hear the pain in your words
when we fight. 
I listen to your loving inuendos
when we apologize because both of
us are not always right.

But I don't understand why I feel
the way I do.
Why does my heart skip a beat
when I see you walk into a room?
Why do my eyes tear up when you
look at me with disappointment
on your face?

How do I tell you that my love 
for you is more than what you know?
You are not only a friend or 
a lover I currently have,
you are my life.
You hold a piece of my heart,
that I can never take back.

I live in a fantasy world when
I am in your presence.
The ugliness and unhappiness
of others seems to disappear
when you encompass my hand in yours.

Why can I tell you in a letter,
how I feel, but never would I tell
you in person?
How can I get as close to you
as you are to me?
It seems the closer I get,
the further you pull away.
Distance can ruin the best of relationships.

I envy that I hear about your 
life through your friends.  
I want to be the one 
who tells them about you.
I want to be the first one
you tell when you have a problem
or when you have something on
your mind.
But why am I always the last?

When we are together, we are happy.
Free of worries and so 
completely content.
Then as I leave, we say
our goodbyes and you promise
to call later.
I go, hoping you will think
of me and our happiness together.

But that never seems to be
the case, you do not
stay to call, you leave.
Only to be with your 
friends, who have become
your life.

The fact that you remind me
that you're always thinking of me,
and that you want me around
keeps me content, happy, and longing
for the next day to come.
Only so I can see your wonderful
smile and feel your comforting
arms as you embrace me.

I go back to my fantasy,
back to where I want to
forever be.
You are my fantasy.
You are my happiness.
You are my life.
Because in you I see truth.

In you I see love.
And that is why I love you!
