I have fallen to these fears
by Paula Michele Rodriguez

I have fallen to these fears,
In which my mindless thoughts have swayed.
With my diverse weakness,
and my countless ways.

And what is it that I'm compelled to want?
What torment is it that I consume?
The lonely emptiness,
deep within this isolated being
Has yet to overcome the endured
grieving of her sorrow.

I have fallen to these fears
of this unexpected path.
And I shall go open-eyed
Unless the shut eyes would darken my way.
