Just A Man
by Michael Shawn Hutchison

I am just a man
with my life I've done the best I can

Sometimes a friend, others a lover
the one I love most sometimes I smother

I don't mean to do these things,
unfortunate consequences it sometimes brings

So forgive me my trespasses
I'll hang up my rose-colored glasses

For, after all, I am just a man
and I promise to do the best I can
