My Son
by ROBERT PAUL HOUSMAN

There are things in life that happen,
That do not make sense to you.
I cannot say I am sorry enough,
For the pain I put you through.

I hope you can forgive me,
And open up your heart.
Even if it's to tell me off,
It's still some place to start.

I know you don't like me,
For the things I have done.
But, I am still your father,
And you are still my son.

My life has gone through changes,
And I know that yours has, too.
But no matter what path life leads us,
I will always be your dad to you.
