Cruel Intentions
by Vincent Paul Gonzales

Your intentions were evil,
Cruel and unseen?
Oblivious to the heartache,
Inevitable was it for me?

You made me a promise,
I hoped you would keep?
You kept it for awhile,
Then broke it and left me?

I gave you all I ever was,
I gave you everything?
And in the instant of one night,
You took your love from me?

Heartless and so evil,
You shattered everything?
My hopes, my dreams, and my poor heart,
That continues to feel for thee?

The love felt real,
And oh, so right?
Your beauty filled my mind?
Thoughts of love and a future bright, illuminated night.

Cruel Intentions did you have,
You played them upon me?
And should you come back to this place,
Loneliness is all you'll see?

I'll never fall for you again,
I am not that naive.
So, when you ask me for my love,
My love I'll deny thee?
