Shooting Stars
by Bob Wheland
Waiting for your angel,
you stare straight ahead,
all you want to see is her
even though the sky is full of shooting stars.
And she comes to you and passes
for she's just a shooting star,
bright in your eyes
but nothing will stop her
from passing you up.
Her angel face changes
from one day to the next
and your feelings for her
change from nothing
to everything.
Then when her shooting star
blows up in your face
you fall apart
and wander off into space
until another shooting star crosses your path.
Someday, you'll find the right one.
