Love Lost Forever
by Debra Gail Daitz-Housman

The echoes of the waves are beating hard inside my head.
Wishing, all I had said to you were words I'm sorry I said.
I remember that night when I saw our love flash away.
It's a constant reminder that stays with me every day.

You saw my tears falling, carried with a pain within my heart.
I saw that look in your eyes when you said we had to part,
A look so dreadful, wondering how did we get this way.
I thought it was a nightmare, and I would wake up to a brand-new day.

Our love was so strong, and I felt it grow all the time.
You told me we were forever, and I knew you were mine.
Suddenly it disappeared, and our love was washed out to sea.
The words that spelled goodbye were words you said to me.

We are no longer together, but I still feel you with me today.
The shadows I see of you behind me are shadows of a cloudy day.
If there was ever a chance to have you back by my side,
I would take away any bad things I said, and hold you close with pride.
