Caught up in the Moment
by Ashley Renea Wright

Raindrops fall on my face
Slowly run down my cheek
I'm staring at the ground
Wet hair in the way

Softly I feel your hand
Run smoothly across my skin
As you lift my head
The rain begans to pour

Trying to stare into my distant eyes
Only to know the truth
Bloodshot from crying
I can barely see your face

The rain so cold
As I tremble and I shake
Gently you run your hand through my hair
I know your intention

I'm so close
Caught up in the moment
Eyes shut, we lean in
To the sound of the intrigued thunder
So close
I'm caught up in the moment

I feel your lips
Passionately placed upon mine
Wet and soft
The rain still falling

Here in the dark
The middle of the street
Here in the dark
No words not a sound

You take my hand
My hand in yours
Forever
Forever there it will be
