Twilight Paths
by Todd  B

Blackness fills the night sky
A new moon there for none to see
A quick flash of lightning as Thor strikes
Booming thunder following so close
Bring me your energy as you so often do
I thrive on that electrical charge
Feeling it through my body, my nerves
The raw power behind it
Like was once in my words
Words that rang true, words that rang loud
Then fear gripped me
Causing me to take a wrong turn on the path we were on
Following not my heart, but my mind
It was not like this at first
Not until soon before a visit I made
Then instead of being the person you loved
I started to become what I thought you wanted
That wrong turn had a price
A high price that threw us astray of the path
Perhaps someday, that path will be found again
If not, solace is taken in the fact
That occasionally we may cross paths
Sharing the trail for short whiles
Knowing that even in the darkness
A true, true friend, and anam-cara I have found
