Father's Day
by Hilary D Ray

Fatherhood will not be easy as I'm sure you would agree
But it will be rewarding raising the new addition to our family
Even though it hasn't been that long, it is quite a sight to see
How well being a Dad suits you, it fits you to a tee

Sweetheart, you've come a long way in such a little time
And every day you steal another piece from this heart of mine
Because you are so wonderful in caring for our son
By looking at his baby face, you see his affection you have won

Of course sometimes you'll make mistakes and not know what to do
But that's what Fatherhood's all about- learning something new
I know no Father can be perfect, but I think you're almost there
As he will know no other who shows him so much care

And if our son was old enough I'm quite certain he would say
"Daddy, I love you very much. Happy Father's Day!"
