Your Affair
by Missa M. Berry

I felt you abandoned me,
abolished my heart,
unforgiven love,
completely torn apart.

I acknowledge your aggression,
your aggravation for "your way,"
but your brisk attractiveness
made me the one to pay.

Your careless craving for satisfaction,
and your dream to succeed,
lead me to the choice
only to need.

I cherish your smile,
your unforgotten, mysterious eyes,
but instead of compelling me,
you're committed to your lies.

You brought me down the road,
only to confuse,
my heart you conquered,
only then it felt so used.

As I sit here thinking of how far you went
and where you might be,
your affair will be forgotten,
and so will what you meant to me.
