LET'S SAY
by Lauren R. Wiggins

This could be the one
You're willing to try again
You won't give up hope
You're ready to fight and win.

Her attention is hard to receive
The softest look or the faintest touch
Draws you in and wraps you
Round her smallest effort.

She's bewitching... she's mysterious
You're scared to death to let yourself love
You eat, sleep, and speak her name
She's nothing like you've ever heard.

Her hair flows... her eyes sparkle
They capture your very soul
You would love to wrap your arms round her tight
Every minute of every day and night.

Yet you keep them in your dreams
For you want her to breathe
You say to yourself,
"She'll love me if I bleed."

Here you stand wide open and bleeding
Yet her sensation still swells
She wants to play fetch with your affection
She throws it far away and you keep on returning it.

Were you really so happy that you can't let her go?
If you love her, show her, and let her know
Otherwise your pain will continue to flow
(And you'll be able to love no more.)
