Edge Of The Crossroad
by JJ Morell
Many times during the day I think of you
and wonder where you are and what you are doing.
I picture you in my mind's far-reaching eye
and project us to a place
where time, the winds and the seas submit to our every command;
a place where the rays of the sun stretch from the horizon
to meet our entwined souls, wrapped together, on a distant shore.
I reach for this vision of happiness
and grasp heaven, if just for a moment,
before slipping sadly back
to the harsh reality that is the world
-an empty void that surrounds me daily.
Tossed about in a tempest of loneliness,
I seek the comforting warmth your beautiful soul brings to mine.
Since before the beginning of time,
a predestined collision has waited
for you and I to reach this majestic crossroad in our lives.
Where we travel from here is yet unknown.
For now, I think I shall stay at the edge of the crossroad,
enjoy your vibrance and warmth, and not worry about the path before me.
