Rememberence of the Deceased
by Natalia M Smith

I walk upon the earth,
That's rumpled and disturbed.
Freshly stirred and dug,
Leaving grass patches perturbed.

My guardian angel buried beneath me.
So calm and sedated.
Tranquil in the chirping of the birds,
In a dreamless slumber not awaited.

Another hero fallen,
Surrendered to the ending of life.
In our hearts you're still the same,
A fighting champ of pain and strife.

I light a candle for you,
In the presense of my love.
Close my eyes and wish,
You are safe and blessed above.

I place a blooming rose,
To remember those who passed away.
Beside the gravestone freshly carved,
And add another flower,

To the stagnant bouquet...
