Holy Matrimony
by Jessica Vanny Guillaume

Walking down the aisle to the sound of the violin
Red and white rose petals all over the ground
that has blessed me with your love.
Voices surrounding me make my heart beat faster.

I see you across the room with that radiant smile.
The train of my white dress dragging behind me,
I listen to my footsteps.
Holding my father?s arm, a tear rolls down my cheek.

My father looks at me with a smile
and wipes away my tears with his fingers.
A smile captures my mother?s eyes as I turn my head
and touch her hand.
After so many years...
Letting go of their little girl is a hard thing to do.

Tears running down my face full of love and happiness,
Our eyes meet and we smile a smile that only happens
once in your life when you know he?s the one.
We take our vows that last more than an eternity.
The rings show love is forever, but also devotion.

My veil is raised above my head and placed gently on my shoulders.
Our ?I do?s? are sealed with a take-my-breath-away kiss
that seems like it lasts a whole lifetime.
A love I always knew was true
and something I?ve always dreamed of:
being in Holy Matrimony with you.
