Reaching for a Star
by Lisa Marie Busch

I am a woman who has loved in vain,
for the man I love has only brought me pain.
God give me the strength to bear all the hurt my love has given me,
I love thee O Lord, but please have pity on me.
The memories of those empty words keep running through my mind,
no matter how you try to push them aside,
they just won't stay behind.
The memories of the good times we have had,
and the things he's said and done,
like words that say "I Love You" and will for years to come.
Do all these words "I Love You"
mean "I love you from afar"
cause reaching for the one you love
is like reaching for a star.
