Bleeding Heart
by Rick  Rowlison

You came into my life with open arms,
I held you tight just as you did me.
We whispered in each others ear,
but what we said was a secret to us.

You lifted me up when I was down,
and I thank you for that.
Now if only I would of done the same,
maybe our hearts wouldn't be broken.

We danced and partied every night,
not letting each other out of our sight.
Some where we went wrong, before we knew it,
we had drifted further apart.

Now the pain has set in,
and we both cannot stand it, what are we to do.
Is life worth giving up because of a lost love?
We have thought about it,
but it would only hurt others.

A broken heart shall heal on it's own,
so we must find the strength to move on.
Even though it is painful,
there is to much life ahead.
So, raise your head up high,
and search out for the love we desire.
