IS IT TOO LATE
by Tracie McKedy
Are you a married man now?
Do you have a kid or two?
Did you get the white picket fence and two car garage?
Have all of your dreams come true?
Did you find your pot of gold
at the end of the rainbow?
How has your life turned out?
Tell me, I really do want to know.
Do you ever think about me
and about what might have been?
Would you do things differently
if you had it to do all over again?
The path you chose so long ago
completely altered our life.
I wonder if you had taken a different path
would today I be your wife?
Some would say it was fate,
that we just were not meant to be.
Is that what you would say now
as you stand here looking at me?
I never did forget you.
You're still right here in my heart.
I've thought about you every day
since we've been apart.
Did you ever think about me once
throughout all of these years?
Did you wonder how my life turned out,
or shed for me some tears?
I shed many tears for you,
in fact I thought they would never stop.
The day you walked away from me
was a day that I never forgot.
So here we are again.
Some might say that this too is fate,
our meeting like this after all these years,
so tell me, is it too late?
