The Game
by Jacinda aka Para-Dice G. Hayes

THE PAWN
I'm on your jock, I will confess
but jocking you gives me nothing but stress.
Stress- with your games of hot and cold,
the games that, might I add, are getting old.
Playing with my emotions, like I'm "Playstation"
Like executive at "Parker Brothers" is your occupation.
Games like you own the whole "Monopoly" board,
toying with my emotions as if you were the good Lord.
Games- as if I have no "Clue"
but player I know all your anticipated moves
I won't be your manipulated pawn
for very long.
So you need to get yourself together
before I shift on you like the weather.

THE PLAYER
You're on my team, this I know.
And I'm going to play you to an all time low.
Play harder than my "Dream Cast."
Then drop you like "Atari": a thing of the past
"Playstation?" I don't think so, not for you,
my game has accelerated to "Playstation 2"
I've got you in the palm of my hand like a "Gameboy"
and I'll turn you on and off until I'm content with joy.
Play you more passionately than the game of my life,
basketball, isn't that trite?
I'm hot for you when you're cold for me,
and vice versa. That is how it is going to be.
I have girls galore, so why would I just want you?
I know EVERY effect my actions have on you.
I've won in "Checkers" because I got you in check
turning you into an emotional wreck
I'm the king in this game of "Chess"
and you're my pawn: you'll always choose me over the rest.
The day you win this game of mine,
I'll change the rules: dedicating, to you, my love and time.
But until then the rules are here to stay,
and I'll be that player who loves to play.

PLAYED BY THE GAME
I'm not quite over you,
but I can play games with hearts too.
The game of "hot and cold" just isn't me
so instead I play with jealousy
I flirt with every "player" in sight,
now, "isn't THAT trite?"
I give everyone, but you, play
when you approach me I go astray.
No apologies; no, I'm not "Sorry" at all.
We're shooting hoops and I have the ball,
I'm on the fast break down the lane
and you're so HOT for me, you're flickering like a flame,
but I do not care.
Because I break free from you while I soar through the air.
Then I grin in your face over the winning dunk I just made,
and look you in your eyes and say, "Player you just got played."
