Jealousy
by joshua dale samuels
Simplistic nonvirtuous minds plague me.
Their elite jealousy holds me from you.
They hide my sun with their eclipse.
I ask how they can cease what is to be true.
I am bounding toward you,
But I look around not moving at all.
Even in my dreams that enable us to be together,
When I get to you, I find a wall.
I have put a wall around my heart,
And crashed it down too many times.
This time you were the one who pushed it down,
But someone else's wall is committing this crime.
I am deathly sorry for the trouble I've caused.
Only the oceans can measure my sorrow.
I may pray to the Good Lord tonight
That he will grant my wish of no tomorrow.
I can no longer bear the strenuous pain of another day.
Problems like this arise too often,
Let me die or let me be free,
Let me be amongst the birds, or give me my coffin.
