Sweetest Embrace
by Daniel James Helms
She brings out the best in me, and the worst.
She?ll leave me in a desert, and then quench my thirst.
We can walk through a field of sunflowers and lace.
We can stand toe to toe and she?ll spit in my face.
We read like a soap opera from day to day.
She can take me into her arms, then leave me for stray.
But, through it all, our souls are entangled.
Our hearts unite, and then become mangled.
We always come back to the sweetest embrace,
And see the rush of emotions in each others? face.
But this time is tough for the script reads so poor.
No matter the climax, it?s her I adore.
She?ll never realize the true passion of my touch,
Because she won?t allow herself... to love me that much.
