Blue Amethyst
by Michael David Coffey
Blue amethyst light, adorning
Your softness in soft light
Lying in the coolness
of a sea breeze
Caressing your silence
Blue amethyst, dazzling
Radiant and revealing
In its heart, a scar
Of life's torment and
despair
Blue amethyst, a jewel
of exquisite form
Such deep, deep blue
Almost perfect in design
One flaw, in its heart
Blue amethyst possessed
A treasure, a lustful gift
Given, taken, a seduction
And in its heart
A searing wound
