Unpretty
by Joni  E.

As I walk by you in the halls
You act like you don't know me
You must have no 'couth' at all
Only the real guys see me,
only you see me as... unpretty.

When we're all alone
you and me layin' side by side
you tell me how unpretty I am.
You look at me, eye to eye
Only you see me as... unpretty.

When I look into the mirror I see me.
Then I look closely and all I see,
is the girl that you want me to be.
Only you see me as... unpretty.

When we go shopping together,
you point out all the girls you like.
Then you tell me....
"You need to look like her."
Only you see me as... unpretty.

When we're around your friends,
you crack jokes about me.
My anger seems to extend.
My love for you seems to bend.

As time goes by
I realize more and more
You don't care about me
You care about my looks.
Only you see me as... unpretty.

But now that you are gone
I don't see myself as unpretty.
I see myself as... beautiful.
