Just To Hold His Heart
by Alyssa Anne Vitry

I miss him so much,
my soul's longing can be heard by others.
I hear his name being swept on the breeze.
So much, that the stars don't seem as bright.
Thousands of miles seem uncrossable.

Sleeping is a saint,
A saint because I get to be with him in my dreams.
I miss him so deeply,
I can no longer tell if the sun is shinning.

At night, his presence is so strong in my mind,
I can feel his silk touch.
See his caring eyes looking into mine,
Hear his caressing voice as it whispers in my ear
And taste his mouth, as it kisses mine.

All of this reality only exists in dreams.

In the daytime, I can smell his cologne,
Floating from a distant satin flower.
I imagine his walk as he moves forward to me,
I almost feel his arms around me.

I miss his soft kisses, full of passion.
I long for the way he held my hand, so gently.
I can't help but remember how a simple hug,
Meant so much to him.

I want his sympathetic actions,
I'd give years for his embarrassing phrases,
I'd give a lifetime for his kind thoughts.
I'd do anything just to hold his heart.
