Selfish Love
by Adrienne Lee Daughdrill

The fallacy of your words burnt me.
The lineage we once shared has faltered.
You fabricate your love for me,
To make you content.

You operate under futile conversation,
And reserve the truth for others.
Hoarding my heart only for you,
With no justification for your actions.

Destroy me hard, bitter, and severe.
Deny my being, illustrate my death,
For my love for you will never vanish.
