The White Rabbit
by Jayla Donielle Wallingford

Lie in arms around me
Roses in the spring
Wrap your petals 'round me
Give this child wings
Pull the angels down from heaven
Steal their halos to give to me
Start the ebb tide flowng
As the moon falls in the sea
Bow and kiss my hand
As I am your majesty
Slip into my chambers
Bring the peasant out in me
Set the blaze a'burning
Wildfires churn
Fall into your arms
O, caterpillar, turn
Run the length of fence-line
Between my left and right
Be there in my rainy days
And in my lonely nights
Paint me a masterpiece
of the stolen mirror
Be my beloved Vincent
Lend to me an ear
Be the picture of perfection
With every little flaw
Kiss away the errors
'Til there's an aching in my jaw
Hold the gods inside your eyes
and look into my soul
Find your name enscribed therein
Touch it and make me whole.
