Come Tomorrow, Slow Then
by John Joseph Thyne III
When time has passed, as time most surely will,
And today's seed towers among the trees,
When joyous thoughts of you and I do fill
My soul and mind as much loved memories;
Only then fierce anticipation cedes,
And breathless gasps for long awaited air
Give way to breaths long-deep, fulling needs.
Tomorrow goes, when you are safely here.
Just a day? An eternity for sure!
For distance never seems so far as when,
The end's in sight, and yet, this day endures.
Reunited soon, then, slow time; slow, then,
For passing time is not a friend to love,
Yet, hearts shall mend what clocks must suffer of.
