Paradise
by James Walters
Were there crimson sunsets
On that tropic isle;
Did the beaches beckon
Like a lover's smile?
When the sea breeze feathered
Shells across the shore,
Did you gather memories
From the ocean's roar?
Was the sky so brilliant;
Were the plants so rare,
That you entertained the thought
You belonged right there?
Did you then remember
Where your loves reside,
Praying for your safe return
From your paradise.
