Let us be
by Carina Catacutan Crump

Amidst this cruel world, he arose
There tattooed on his arm, a purple rose
It?s him, the man of my dreams, as he came close

He touched my finger, and I quivered
The look in his eyes, will always be remembered
He was 24, I was 43, and behold magic thundered

Love, understanding... he willingly gave
Treated me like a queen, forgot I use to be a slave
My heart swelled with love I thought I would never have

We shared and gave with no hesitation
Battled tough times, others dare not in any situation
Made us tie the knot with love, not need or desperation

Oh cruel world, what have you done
This once happy couple doesn?t need to be gone
Let them stay forever loving in their own twilight zone
