The Street I Live On
by   RAINMAKER98_1

  Listen, can you hear it?
The sounds of the city, as the people sleep.
If you listen close you can hear the heartbeat,
and see the tears the city weeps.
  Each street and dark alley...
has its own story to tell,
Some are stories of great love and courage...
others are stories of hell.
The street I live on will cry tears,
from now till the end of time.
My street didn't see some great war or battle,
or witness some gruesome crime.
It witnessed the pain and heartache
of a once true love... lost!
It saw the price a man would pay for true love...
and wondered why he would pay the cost.
I'm sure if the street could speak it would ask,
why a man brings himself such pain.
The only answer I could give...
"I have nothing to lose... and everything to gain."
But if I think about it,
there should be a question from me to you.
Why, why did you leave me and hurt me,
what was it, what did I do?
