Kayleigh
by   Kitten

I don't need an explanation,
not right now.
I don't need someone to tell me it's okay
that this is what life's about.

I don't want a bouquet of flowers
With a card that gives me sympathy.
I don't want to hear she's in a better place,
My heart is thinking selfishly.

I don't want to hear how long we've known
This day was bound to come.
I don't want to hear she knew I loved her
and there's nothing more we could have done.

I don't want my tears to stop
not until I see her again.
I don't want to let go...
I lost my best friend.

I don't want to talk about it
That won't bring her back.
I'll have to reach inside my heart to see her
I know that's where she's at.

All I want is for her to know
How much she meant to me;
That every time I was upset
I said things I didn't mean;

That I want to see her so much it hurts
But she doesn't come to me in my dreams
And that even though she's not with us
She has my love for eternity.
