Lost to me forever
by   Bill

She is lost to me forever,
She has turned her back and gone,
No voice of velvet comfort,
And no face to look upon.

The despair is overwhelming,
The pain is absolute,
The grief of unrequited love,
No sage could e'er dispute.

A man can know no greater love,
Than that... for which he falls,
The vision of her beauty,
My lifetime shall recall.

When at last my life is over,
And lost... is all I knew,
That final, fleeting vision,
Will be the love I found in you.
