The Ocean
by Mark  Lockwood

When you look at the ocean,
is she really peaceful?
     No...

after following her waves,
she'll drown you.
She salts up your shores,
Suddenly
she'll storm...
knock you off your boat.

Will she love you, forever?
    No...

only until she finds
a better ship to overturn.

When you first see her,
she is...
mesmorizingly beautiful,
Almost a trance.

Do you love the ocean, anymore?
    No...

I can't say I do.
But I did...
Her currents,
pushed me away.

Will you ever go
to the ocean again?
    No...

I don't believe I will.

I have met...
the peaceful lake,
she treats me right.
