We
by Bill
We touch, yet, never meet.
We kiss but never greet.
We yearn with full desire.
We need but can't acquire.
We talk but do not speak.
For our horizons are too bleak.
We long but dare not hope.
We survive but fail to cope.
We dream an endless dream,
That love may call supreme.
But do we simply love in vain?
To love, to long and to retain,
A soul that's full of life and pure,
With lips that taste of sweet liqueur.
Alas, two strangers we will stay.
No passions shown, nor on display.
Our hearts to break and turn to stone,
That gently weeps and weeps alone.
And when no more I am to thee,
What was my wish...? that we, could be!
