Choices
by Chelse  Elliot

Walking through a cloudland of choices
Constant choices drizzling through
The membranes of my mind
Dungeons flooded with dunghill moments
Always conscious of the dusk that hovers

Below my left ear
The forever evenfall hovering, hovering
But for now, I live
And life's choices crowd around me
A paradiddle drumming- rataplan, rataplan
And my skin trembles
My ribs ache
At once I feel aroused
And then drawfed by the possibilities

Breathless yearning
Fancified emancipation
To me, the exotic privilege of choice
Can be as arbitrary as the angle of the plow
As evil as a frail-minded king
As intimidating as the endlessness of death

To squander precious breaths pondering
Or escape the stationless labyrinth of indecision?
Step forward, always forward
If I be a mooncalf making foolish choices
When I look at you
I know my choice was the right choice at that moment

The wind whispers a waltz
As you tangle your fingers in my hair
My belly tingles with a whimpering ache
My soul opens like an orchid
Feverishly flowing down
To the nectar kissed pearl of my abandon

Folded within your arms I dance with you my love
On this blue ball of heaven
I choose to dance with you
