Is there a way?
by Demetrius Rashad Glover
Is there a way to mend what's been broken?
Is there a way to rekindle the flame that is slowly extinguishing?
Is there a way to erase the heartache and pain?
Is there a way to go back and undo the past
and maybe be grateful for what we have?
Is there a way to keep third parties out of the picture?
Is there a reason why you enjoy chatting with other guys,
acting like it's not a big deal?
I don't think you see the bigger picture.
Is there a reason why yesterday your world came crashing down
when the tables were switched around?
Is there a way to show you the pain I feel,
the way my heart shatters each and every time I read one of those messages,
yet you continue to do what pleases you, as if nothing else matters.
Is there a way to show that I've changed because of you?
Is there a way to test you to see if your so called love is true?
What happened to the plans we made for the future,
the life we said we wanted to build,
getting your tubes untied and having our own kids?
What happened to you saying your love is unconditional?
It went from laughing and playing to arguments and bitter conversations.
Can't hold a conversation with me but can talk to a total a stranger.
Is there a way to explain that?
Or better yet, explain why messages two and four, with your reply aren't there.
Perhaps you erased them so you wouldn't incrimnate yourself?
Why do you say that you have something good and you wouldn't jepordize it,
but you have on more than one occasion?
You do the opposite of what you say.
You say you didn't need a myspace, yet you made another one;
say that the white guy was nothing and it wouldn't happen again;
say I was the only person you talk to,
yet you seem to have made a new friend.
The story never changes; its the same thing all over again!
I don't know if it's me, but...
there is no longer any sweet music being played from our symphony.
Maybe I'm blind, dumb or naive,
but if the pieces to the puzzle don't come together soon,
I have no choice but to leave.
Maybe one day you will wake up and see
that no man walking this earth can love you like me!
