Eyes of an Angel
by Matthew F Robinson-Plume
Painful it feels- to have upset her, whom I adore
Temporarily forgotten dreams of a happy tomorrow
Now reverse- fading within me
And fighting the shadowy present sorrow
Thoughts of remorse do fill my mind
For I saw in the eyes of an angel today
The pain that my jealousy wrought...
Have I pushed her, who I love, too far away?
Come back, come back, you who I worship
Right here, for you my heart does wait
With aching hindsight that persecutes it
For what is worse than a soul without its mate?
It is said that we reap what we sow
But I dream that I have not wilted my flower
The causer of this ache- passion, and joy
You create for me eternity in an hour
The decider of fate, to it I turn
And now I do implore
Bring to me a future with her
Her that that I cannot help but truly adore
Fate, I ask you- are our souls entwined together?
Forever linked by synchronicity
I am chancing that they are by asking...
Angel eyes, Kirstie, will you marry me?
