your eyes
by samantha ann gallegos
I looked in to your eyes; you looked in to mine.
From that day on, we knew apart we could never be.
We brought a beautiful little person in this world,
We went on living, na?ly believing
that love alone could pull us through
whatever life dropped on us; problems came one by one.
We had all the love that was needed, but soon found out
that love can?t hold the weight of the world.
It takes much more, but we found out to late.
I looked into your eyes; you looked in to mine.
From that day on, we knew we would be apart.
Tears filled my eyes every night,
as I tried not to hear your cries to come back.
You asked me to marry you, but too much had happened.
I needed my time, when it was all said and done.
with a month of not holding you, I realized
no matter what life had in store for me,
your were the one I was to have by my side until I die.
I looked into your eyes; you looked in to mine.
From that day on, we knew we would always be apart.
My life went from bad to worse in the drop of a dime
when I found out she would have what was mine.
I cried myself to sleep as tears filled your eyes
to not hear my cries. you wanted to come back,
but I didn?t understand why you just didn?t leave her,
until I got the news; I heard my world crumble to dust.
Now my little girl was going to be a big sister.
I looked into your eyes; you looked in to mine.
Time went on and we tried to move on.
We still had all the love that was needed,
but now things were crazy.
You knew you didn?t love her, and she never loved you.
And, great father that you are, you tried to make it work,
but you realized that no matter what life had in store for you,
I was the one you were to have by your said until you die.
I looked in to your eyes; you looked in to mine,
and from that day forward, we promised never to be apart.
We now know that it takes much more than just love to keep it together,
and we learned one thing: love brought us back to each other.
I love you.
