Once Upon A Star
by jessica  thompson

There was a star
That glistened brighter than the others

It glowed just like an angel
But prettier

One night it fell
So I picked it up

I brought it in
And wished upon the star

The wish was the best I could ever ask for
I wished that I had you next to me

A touch upon my face woke me up
I looked up to find you there

It seemed like magic, but it was real

I had fun while it lasted

When you went away and disappeared
My soul was empty and alone

You flew away into the starry night
While the fire grew deep down in my heart with anticipation

I wanted you back so bad
But, I knew it would happen again
On another starry night as I wish

Once Upon A Star
