Number Two
by Gregory J. Lamoureux
We lay together tonight,
wet with passion's sweat,
though it doesen't mean a thing,
'cuz tomorrow you will only forget.
you will leave me,
alone again to die,
my heart in two pieces,
all I can do is try.
I still love you,
every moment of every day,
you go with him instead,
with one thing you say-
'I love you both'
and that is all I hear,
'cuz to know you still love me,
it takes away some of the fear.
If it ever ends with him,
I'll be right here for you,
just one thing is for sure,
to me- you will never be number two.
