Give up
by Constance Jean Jones

You told me you will always be there.
You told me you would hold me close when I am scared.
You told me you would make me laugh when I am blue.

You say, "I love you," at just the right time.

You hug me when I need it the most.
You told me you would never go away.
I thought 'we' would last forever...

The day you told me it was over, you made me cry.
I never thought my true love was walking away from love.

Now I am all alone in the night
Yhinking about what I did so wrong
For my true love to just give up on us
And walk away from what we work so hard for.

It's all gone...
I have lost everything that meant the most to me.
If I had to go to hell and back
To get you in my life again,
But I know that would never happen-
because you found someone new.

If you ever read this I just want you to know
I still love you so...
